Holiday In New Zealand

My family and I had spent around 20 days in Kiwi Land travelling to the different parts by campervan. Most of the time spent was in the south island and we covered almost all the significant destinations (except Invercargill). Museums, lakes, blowholes, sounds and best of all, glaciers with alot of travelling in between pretty round up south island. We did the famous SHOTOVER JET ride by the way, and I think everyone should give it a try. They reallly mean what they say, about the adrenaline spike.

North Island was not too bad, considering that we only spent a week. The highlights there were the 40 degree thermal pools, black water rafting (I'd rather call it tubing because there is NO raft, only a rubber tube), glowworms ( more of the glowing secretions of the maggot), and 90 mile beach( it is only around 60 miles actually. We also paid a visit to both my mom and joel's friends place in Auckland during the last few days of our trip.

Overall, New Zealand is a wonderful place to have a holiday. My suggestion would be to have one that is about 2 weeks; we were kind of tired of the constant travelling around the 16th day.

Pirates Of The Caribbean 3: At World's End

The film picks up after the events of the previous movie,Dead Man’s Chest as Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann find themselves allied with the resurrected Captain Barbossa in their quest to free Captain Jack Sparrow from his mind-bending fate in Davy Jones’ locker.

Once freed, the pirates must unite against the might of Davy Jones and The Flying Dutchman – now allied to the East India Trading Company and its treacherous leader Lord Cutler Beckett – in a bid to protect their freedom-loving Pirate way.

Betrayals for others or oneself is aplenty in this show, and I could not help but feel the characters succumbing to their temptations and desires. The twist of events certainly had me intrigued and really got my attention.

Much humour can be seen in this movie by Jack Sparrow and Barbosa ( I don't know about you, but the plot was not so much on suspense), so the experience was more of action and humour, which suited me just fine.

English preliminary oral examination

English has always been the medium I use to get on with life, so something such as my school's english preliminary oral examination was a piece of cake. But sadly, everyone was to report to school at 7:45am, regardless of the order. What's even worse, I was the last person to be tested. The time for the first session shown on our student's oral slip showed 7:45 to 10:00a.m. Great, just great. Now all I have to do now is wait for at least 2 hours.

Which I did in agony. At first, it was not all that bad. A glance at nearby friends, a brief chat with my fellow classmates who were going to be tested earlier than me, and nevertheless, spending most of my time seated uncomfortably on the cold hall floor with the latest Reader's Digest Select Edition on my lap.

A quick glimpse of the hall clock an hour and a half later, was subsequently followed by the stretching of my legs and eventually the closing of my book. No amount of gripping plot would be able to overcome the boredom that increased by the second. Sighing to myself then, I wondered why the idea of arriving at the hall at the latest by 9 did not seem to occur to me. After all, I knew I was going to be the last one tested, why not come abit later? I guess doing things by the book may not be the best solution after all.

As you know, we have 10 minutes to study both the passage and the picture discussion. The topic of the conversation would be somewhat be similar to the former two. Both the passage and the picture discussion were studied briefly but thoroughly. Both were about musical instruments. So I obviously assumed that the conversation was about the musical instruments.

Who would have guess, that when I was to be tested, one teacher asked: 'Okay, we'll now go on to the conversation. Now tell us, what was the most recent musical event that I've been to?' One second. Two seconds. Change of plans. And then I began.

I have a pretty good feeling that the teachers (two of them, if you're still wondering) were quite impress, even after 2 hours of non-stop listening to the us students. Still, I'm glad that the oral examination was over; I felt more bored than nervous throughout the whole examination. :p

New year resolution For 2007

My new year's resolution for 2007 is to be a better friend to those that I know and to be friends with those that are not next year.

I also want be more outspoken and able to communicate more with my current classmates whom I'm not so familiar with. And not just classmates; teachers also if it means getting to know them better.

For soccer, I plan to train afew times a week after school to improve my skills and to also keep me fit. Trainings on weekends are included also, as it overally improves the team, both in team work and spirit.

And running? Similarly but more intensively for I plan to take part in next years marathon with family. Not for the timing, but the completion;as long as I complete it, it's enough for me.

Holiday at Bintan

Just recently, we as a family went to Bintan Resort for our holiday from the 20th to 24th of november. The weather was just like Singapore, so shorts was an everyday necessity. The sea was crystal clear! I even saw fish at deeper shores near the seabed.

We were looking froward to the go-kart activity and boy, was it a thrill of a life-time. The vehicles could reach a top speed of 50km/h and sudden boost in speed shocked us three; my dad just kept zipping past us and I managed to keep a distance from him x).

We also did snorkelling at a different location along the beach. It was a wonderful sight, looking at the many different kinds of fish all swimming in unison to and fro. Sadly I did not manage to see both the sea urchin and parrotfish that my parents pointed out =(

We spent the remaining time in the afternoons swimming at the pool; it was very refreshing after every trip to the sea, and we would like to just doze off in the shade from the sun.

The food there was also very appetising; I miss the fish dippers in the mayo sauce!

Holiday at Genting

From the 6th to 10th of November, was the holiday in Genting. On the night that we were going to leave our home country, my dad, both brothers and I were comfortably seated in plush electronic chairs at the back of the coach. Since we were travelling at night, there was not much we could see outside, so instead, we were happily watching some movie videos from the screen that was in front of us, all the way until we had reached Genting highlands.

During the 5 days of our stay, we went to all of the 'worth it' attractions. Sadly, the corkscrew coaster had opened only on the day that we had to leave, but on the good side, everyone did the most thrilling vertical drop atrraction, even joel managed to do it!

Our stay in Awana Resort was an enjoyable one. It was a quiet place and the food was delicious. And for once we could sleep in peace! =p

Not So Good Days

These past 2 weeks seem to go by a little bit too slow when I'm sick. Even now, the sudden sniffs of the cold or the constant coughing still can be heard. Crap..this flu's tougher than I thought.

If it gets any worse, I don't think i'll be able to go for the OBS course on the 18th Sep. Nevermind..still got 36 hours to recuperate, still hopeful that I can rough it out during the 5 days of the course..
